Audi a5 coupe 1.8 tfsi petrol, this car with leather interior has had £2500 spent on it in the past 18 months including new front brake calipers and hoses front wheel hub and bearing kit, rear springs and shock absorbers and servicing plus other numerous parts . Unfortunately on the way back from the mot after stopping at a petrol station to fuel up the car, it then would not start subsequently the AA turned up and diagnosed a timing chain issue and the car was towed to my local garage who had previously done the above work. They then confirmed what the AA had said and there diagnoses was the that the timing chain has either stretched or that the chain guide had broken. The garage has said that they could probably fix for approximately £800 but they could not guarantee the work as they may be other damage they cannot see. We were due to change this car to a more family friendly car soon so we have now purchased another vehicle. This car up to this time has been reliable and drove perfectly well there is 11 months mot left. This will make a lovely car for someone with a bit knowledge and know-how the car will need to be collected on a flat bed or a trailer and winched on there are two keys. No one has attempted to start or run this car since this has happened . There is no warranty or guarantees with this I’ve just been as honest as I can be all receipts for all previous work included. Kind regards Linden.
