Fast becoming a classic, this is a much loved and cared for S3, with no stupid modifications (aside from the aftermarket headunit which I’ve never really been that fond of).

Fast becoming a classic, this is a much loved and cared for S3, with no stupid modifications (aside from the aftermarket headunit which I’ve never really been that fond of).
I’ll try and keep it concise and in note form, so here goes:
– Car has been SORN and unused for the last 5 and a half years (due to use of a company vehicle instead)- Despite this, after a new battery was fitted last month, It starts, drives and all electrics & lights function well, including remote central locking. The only real exception being the headlamp levelling system, see notes later- It underwent a large amount of work prior to being SORN, including a fully reconditioned engine and turbo, clutch kit and cambelt- Bodywork and interior is in a good overall condition, considering age of the vehicle, with a few rust/paintwork damage on the exterior (small patch by the boot lock and on the roof) I’ve tried to demonstrate in this in the photos, Some of the trim is slightly peeling away inside and on the driver’s door handle and door. The brake discs and pads seem to have come out the worst in terms of rust after being left outside all this time.- There’s stacks of history of the work carried out maintaining the vehicle over the previous 5 owners, including the original service manual with records up to 2016
Having put the vehicle through an MOT, the refusal notes, and repairs required are as follows:
Major defects:
– Front nearside and offside coil springs faulty / damaged
– Headlamp levelling device inoperative on nearside and offside
– Exhaust carbon monoxide exceeds default limit (likely needs a new catalytic converter)
Advisories:
– Tyre damaged / cracking nearside and offside front
– Underside suspension and all 4 brake discs have some corrosion commensurate with having been stood for a period of time
– Fluid leak (coolant) but not excessive
Minor repairs:
– Driver’s side headlight fogging up / condensation
– Drivers side door slightly stiff to open and close, may have dropped slightly and need re-adjusting
– Front passenger speaker has a loud buzz when playing back music. All other speakers function well.
– Ariel missing
– Alloys are a bit scuffed
– Some small paintwork bubbles, and one small rust spot on the roof.
**** PLEASE BEAR IN MIND ****
The vehicle has been off the road and exposed partially to the elements for the last 5 and half years. Sun, rain, snow. Please don’t expect it to be of showroom quality, but it has held up remarkably well.
There is no MOT and it’s currently SORN, so I won’t be able to offer a test drive while the vehicle is off the road. You’re more than welcome to view it, turn the engine on and go forwards and backwards in the private car park it’s currently parked up in. 🙂
This also means I haven’t had a chance to tale it for a spin on the open road, so the extent of repairs and faults I can decipher have been limited to what I can discover in 1st, 2nd and reverse gear,
You’ll have to arrange for collection / transportation of the vehicle, or I’d be happy to suggest a local mechanic who’s already assessed the work needed, and can carry out the repairs to get it through an MOT and road legal.
